Last call for Sudoku Delight...

Today is the deadline for registering for my Sudoku Delight class. If you don't know about it, read my previous post for more details and a photo of the stitched design. Registration numbers have been phenomenal - a lot of people like Sudoku! With the release of Colorwaves making a big splash, taking class registrations, and starting some new designs, I've been busy!

I've also been preparing to leave next week for the South Central Region Seminar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I'm teaching with my mother, which is always a fun time! Come say hello at Merchandise Night if you're in the area - you can visit the Seminar and see the exhibit and shop at the Boutique, bookstore, and Merchandise Night even if you're not attending Seminar or even a member of EGA. You can get more info and the seminar schedule at here. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new people. Since I work from home, mostly alone, I always relish the opportunity to be among people, especially stitchers!!

When I was in Montgomery a couple of weeks ago, I went to The Needle Bug and verified all of my colorways for the Sudoku class. It's so nice to have the full lines of thread at my fingertip - it' what I miss most about my shop, besides the people. I was missing a couple of threads here and there and was able to find what I liked to update the colorway photos. Here are the finalized photos...I want to do something with Caramels and Paprika! I really like these two as I've not stitched with the overdyes in them.
Caramels

Paprika (I forgot to put the overdyed silk in this photo!)

Blues/Gold

I've finished stitching a couple of new designs and wish I could show you but alas, they are for release later this summer so you'll have to wait to see them!

Off to unpack boxes of threads to make more Colorwaves kits!! They're so fun I may have to use them for another design!

2020 Mystery

It's official - registration is open for my 2020 Mystery - Banded by Bargello! You can get all the details here . I used Planet Earth silks and Pepper Pot for the first time in this project. The silk is a bit thick for 18ct which made it perfect for bargello with excellent coverage. I loved the Pepper Pot so expect to see it in future projects. I also used overdyed threads from ThreadworX - pearl cotton, floss, Vineyard Silk, and metallic braid. Here's a photo of the threads I used and a couple of snippets of my stitched piece. Using all the ThreadworX was like reconnecting with an old friend - I used quite a variety! I had a great time choosing the alternate colorways - I was in one of my favorite shops, Elegant Stitch , surrounded by walls and drawers of threads. Of course, while I was there, I chose threads for a few future projects! Here are photos of the four alternate colorways - I may have to use one of them for a new design! Earthtones is based on R...

New Color Delights

Along with Boo Logs, I will be releasing a new Color Delights .  I used Kelp Watercolours and Waterlilies both so am calling this one Kelp. The photo is a little crooked as part of the border got cut off when I edited it... This is the 45th in the Color Delights series. I never dreamed when this series started that I would do this many! Believe it or not, in the beginning it was a monthly club for one year. After a year though, there were still so many colors I wanted to do, it continued. I still really enjoy doing these small pieces and always have one going with me when I travel - they're a perfect little size to tuck in my carry-on!    I've never done a give-away on my blog so this will be the first! Leave a comment with a color suggestion for a future Color Delights and I'll choose a winner (by random number generator) after the weekend on Monday. The winner will get a new Color Delights - Kelp pattern.   Good Luck! Kathy

New website design

I'm thrilled to announce and introduce my new website. It's been live for a week or so. You can find it at the old address of www.needledelights.com - it has a completely new look and is easy to navigate. You can subscribe on the website and then will receive regular email newsletters from me. I'll also be blogging from the website as soon as I complete some training so this blog will be closing down. I'm starting to make kits for this year's Mystery - I ordered some extra threads to make a few additional kits so if you missed the signup and are still interested, email me. Class starts February 14th. You can see all the details  here . I'm working on exciting new designs to release at Nashville in March. Here's the beginning of a larger design I'm calling Gypsy. I loved working with the rich jewel tone colors and the design has a Bohemian feel. I can't wait to show you the rest of it when I officially announce my Nashville releases! I'l...
