Framing...and a Preview

A very productive trip to the framer this morning...I'm getting ready for the Nashville market in a few weeks so I picked out mats and frames for two new pieces. I picked up a few mats I had cut with multiple openings to display all my Color Delights and Double Delights in a more efficient manner - when I get the 40 something pieces mounted, I'll show you a picture! I also picked up my friends Tuscan Midnight which she stitched in the Cool Blues colorway listed in the pattern. This picture does not do it justice - the framing turned out fabulous. The mat is a pale blue and the frame is silver shot through with blue - the whole thing just shimmers. This piece is going to live with my until its owner comes down from Michigan in May so I'll get to take it to the tradeshow and let people ooh & aah over it. It'll also be in the trunk show at Nashville Needleworks the last week of Feb - drop by if you're in the neighborhood!

Here's a sneak peek of a larger piece I'll be releasing at the show - I've been stitching on it ad nauseum (not a phrase I think I've ever used before!) the last 12 days. I should be able to finish it up tomorrow and then do the photography and start the printing production process...this will be called BlackJack as the "stars" came out looking like jacks! The jacks are stitched with black Vineyard silk and the rest is all DMC floss. I'll be providing a conversion to Vineyard silk for those who want to do the whole thing in silk (it would be yummy but I didn't have enough colors in my stash to make it in time!). This has been great fun to stitch (until the last day or so!). I designed it as I went and at some point, thought I'd run out of ideas for the 10x10 thread squares but now that the designing is done, I have way more ideas! I'm sure there'll be something similar in my future endeavors - I'm just a happy scrappy kind of girl!

Autumn Logs pillow

Just a quick post to show my finished Autumn Logs made into a pillow. The center looks washed out in the photo but I can't take another because I sent the pillow up to Fireside Stitchery - they're having a Needle Delights Originals trunk show right now and have over a dozen of my pieces - check them out if you're in the northeast! http://www.firesidestitchery.com/     Today is the first day of my online class "Inchies" - here's the Confetti colorway - one of my students already finished it and sent a photo!     I'm working on something new and will show you a peek soon! More Serenity and something new...

I'm so pleased to show you photos of some of my students' work! They've had such fun stitching Serenity and several have completed it. It's such fun to see the different colorways come to life! First up is Pam B's - it's called "Flowers of Italy". She was clever and added her initials to the piece - can you find them?!   Next is Highland Garden - it was one of the most popular colorways!   And here's Arnhem Heath, the ever popular purple and green!  I'll be teaching this project at Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, CA next month - if you're wanting some Serenity, come join us. You can see all the info here. Kathy

New website design

I'm thrilled to announce and introduce my new website. It's been live for a week or so. You can find it at the old address of www.needledelights.com - it has a completely new look and is easy to navigate. You can subscribe on the website and then will receive regular email newsletters from me. I'll also be blogging from the website as soon as I complete some training so this blog will be closing down. I'm starting to make kits for this year's Mystery - I ordered some extra threads to make a few additional kits so if you missed the signup and are still interested, email me. Class starts February 14th. You can see all the details  here . I'm working on exciting new designs to release at Nashville in March. Here's the beginning of a larger design I'm calling Gypsy. I loved working with the rich jewel tone colors and the design has a Bohemian feel. I can't wait to show you the rest of it when I officially announce my Nashville releases! I'l
