Razzmatazz

Registration is officially underway for my 2017 Mystery class. You can read all about it here. There is a peek above and below. I really enjoyed creating this piece - I challenged myself in several ways to make it more interesting for me to design, stitch, and stay amused! I'm happy to report it is completely finished and I'm now working on something new to release at the Nashville market in March!
  •  Use a color of canvas other than white or eggshell
  •  Leave canvas threads empty to let the color show through
  •  Use a number of straight stitches (instead of diagonal)
  •  Throw in a few beads
  •  Make a more symmetrical design than the last two Mystery projects (Starstruck & Curios)

Here are the colorways I created - the original registration announcement only shows five options but I've done two more because the Prickly Pear and Kelsch colorways from Curios were requested. My original design is based on the Appalachia Watercolour and stitched on Leventeen Blue canvas.

Tahiti stitched on Yellow Canvas - a special request from a dear friend!

Bermuda Reef stitched on Aquamarine Canvas - one of my favorite Watercolours of all time!

Sedona Sunset stitched on Rose Blush Canvas - one of the newest Watercolours

Fiesta on Brown Canvas (the brown is darker than Sandstone which is darker than Eggshell):

Prickly Pear on Brown Canvas - another "Earthtones" option because the Prickly Pear colorway of Curios was a special request after registration was announced. I came up with this and liked it so much, it is another offering.

Kelsch on Brown Canvas - Since I did one of last year's new Watercolours, I thought I'd do another. I chose Kelsch because I've been wanting to design something with it and now I have another palette of threads!

Join in the fun - class starts in March and is easy to keep up with. If you've already signed up and wish to change to one of the new colorways, just email me. I'm happy to change anything until registration ends in a few weeks.

More Serenity and something new...

I'm so pleased to show you photos of some of my students' work! They've had such fun stitching Serenity and several have completed it. It's such fun to see the different colorways come to life! First up is Pam B's - it's called "Flowers of Italy". She was clever and added her initials to the piece - can you find them?!   Next is Highland Garden - it was one of the most popular colorways!   And here's Arnhem Heath, the ever popular purple and green!  I'll be teaching this project at Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, CA next month - if you're wanting some Serenity, come join us. You can see all the info here. Kathy

New website design

I'm thrilled to announce and introduce my new website. It's been live for a week or so. You can find it at the old address of www.needledelights.com - it has a completely new look and is easy to navigate. You can subscribe on the website and then will receive regular email newsletters from me. I'll also be blogging from the website as soon as I complete some training so this blog will be closing down. I'm starting to make kits for this year's Mystery - I ordered some extra threads to make a few additional kits so if you missed the signup and are still interested, email me. Class starts February 14th. You can see all the details  here . I'm working on exciting new designs to release at Nashville in March. Here's the beginning of a larger design I'm calling Gypsy. I loved working with the rich jewel tone colors and the design has a Bohemian feel. I can't wait to show you the rest of it when I officially announce my Nashville releases! I'l...

Autumn Logs pillow

Just a quick post to show my finished Autumn Logs made into a pillow. The center looks washed out in the photo but I can't take another because I sent the pillow up to Fireside Stitchery - they're having a Needle Delights Originals trunk show right now and have over a dozen of my pieces - check them out if you're in the northeast! http://www.firesidestitchery.com/     Today is the first day of my online class "Inchies" - here's the Confetti colorway - one of my students already finished it and sent a photo!     I'm working on something new and will show you a peek soon!
