A new online class...Mint Julep

Registration is open for my new online class, Mint Julep. It closes July 29th so I can get all the supplies ordered to start class September 1st. I fook forward to another great class! This monochromatic design incorporate s a lot of different textured threads and a lot of unusual stitch combinations - it's fun to stitch! The ph oto doesn't show all the sparkle and texture.  You can s ee all the colorways and registration info at  https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46618682/SNS%20Mint%20Julep-2016.pdf   Here's my original piece - I wanted a soft soothing design and chose a variety of mint greens with touches of seafoam and other greens. As usual, I developed a few other colorways. I've included photos of finished pieces from several students.   The other colorways are:  Melon   Neutral Blues     Lavenders  When I taught it in person, several people asked me about doing dark instead of light borders for some of the al

True Random Number Generator Min:   Max: Result: 28   According to the random number generator,  #28 is the winner! Congratulation to Ruth-Anne Cain   She'll get one of the first Color Delights - Kelp patterns when it is released next week! Thanks to all who commented - I've added some notes to "Inspiration/Idea Book"!  Until next time,  Happy Stitching! Kathy

New Color Delights

Along with Boo Logs, I will be releasing a new Color Delights .  I used Kelp Watercolours and Waterlilies both so am calling this one Kelp. The photo is a little crooked as part of the border got cut off when I edited it... This is the 45th in the Color Delights series. I never dreamed when this series started that I would do this many! Believe it or not, in the beginning it was a monthly club for one year. After a year though, there were still so many colors I wanted to do, it continued. I still really enjoy doing these small pieces and always have one going with me when I travel - they're a perfect little size to tuck in my carry-on!    I've never done a give-away on my blog so this will be the first! Leave a comment with a color suggestion for a future Color Delights and I'll choose a winner (by random number generator) after the weekend on Monday. The winner will get a new Color Delights - Kelp pattern.   Good Luck! Kathy

Summer Stitching...

I'm enjoying the summer and having some time to design and stitch! I've just sent the long awaited Boo (Halloween) Logs to the printer after taking the final stitches on Sunday. Shops can pre-order now or if you don't have a local shop, you can get it here . Like the other "Logs" designs, Boo Logs is worked entirely with Watercolours and two Kreinik #12 braids. I was so happy when Caron Collection introduced "Coal" with the last new Watercolours - it was the perfect border for this piece! I took my niece up to North Carolina last week for a little vacation and for her to attend classes at the John Campbell Folk Art School. I have to admit I was a bit jealous dropping her off every morning for "camp" - she had a great time and made paper crafts, painted, sewed, blazed a trail, and more I can't even remember! We managed to sneak in some quilting - she's 8 and I taught her to use Grandma's iron & sewing machine. She picked out
