It's beginning...

to feel a lot like Christmas! I put up my tree this past weekend and actually couldn't fit all my ornaments on it! I finished cleaning out my storage unit and found a box of ornaments I had in the shop that I kept for myself. They really filled up the tree and I had to leave off some things. I may have to get a bigger tree next year! Here's the tree...
and just a few of my favorite ornaments.
 
This cross stitch Santa has legs made of buttons and the pattern was in one of the Just Cross Stitch ornament magazines. I still think he's just darling!
 
This "Tassel Santa" is needlepointed from a Cheryl Schaffer pattern - even the back is stitched!
 
This round ornament is the first thing I ever designed and was the beginning of my first set of "Ornaments of the Month". I've thought about releasing them - they do look great on the tree and are simple and quick to stitch! The little Baby's 1st sock was needlepointed when my niece was born four years ago and I'm keeping it for her! It looks darling tucked into the tree. I like "perching" ornaments into the branches here and there instead of "hanging" them all.

And here's what some of you have been waiting to see...a bigger look at my Spring Logs. I still have a lot of border to do. My friends who've seen it say it's "sweet". I'm ready to move on to Winter - think I'll stitch it in the right season!

    Well, I know this comment is coming way after you posted this, but hopefully you'll see it! I would LOVE if you did decide to release (or RE-release?) your ornament charts! As a newbie to counted canvas work, I think these would be very appealing to folks out there like me who want to try counted canvas work, but are maybe a bit "challenged" by trying one of the larger designs. Plus, they look really great on your tree! What cool gifts they would make. Hope you'll think about maybe releasing a few later in the Fall? Thanks!

More Serenity and something new...

I'm so pleased to show you photos of some of my students' work! They've had such fun stitching Serenity and several have completed it. It's such fun to see the different colorways come to life! First up is Pam B's - it's called "Flowers of Italy". She was clever and added her initials to the piece - can you find them?!   Next is Highland Garden - it was one of the most popular colorways!   And here's Arnhem Heath, the ever popular purple and green!  I'll be teaching this project at Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, CA next month - if you're wanting some Serenity, come join us. New website design

 I'm thrilled to announce and introduce my new website. It's been live for a week or so. You can find it at the old address of www.needledelights.com - it has a completely new look and is easy to navigate. You can subscribe on the website and then will receive regular email newsletters from me. I'll also be blogging from the website as soon as I complete some training so this blog will be closing down. I'm starting to make kits for this year's Mystery - I ordered some extra threads to make a few additional kits so if you missed the signup and are still interested, email me. Class starts February 14th. You can see all the details  here . I'm working on exciting new designs to release at Nashville in March. Here's the beginning of a larger design I'm calling Gypsy.
