Closeout Chaos

I've been posting Closeouts on my website this week (www.needledelights.com) and have created organized chaos in my living room, dining room, and kitchen. Mass amounts of inventory are leaving my house tomorrow! I'm exhausted & happy...the storage unit is getting cleared out. See the little white thing on the rug in the middle of the photo? It's one of the cat toys - the babies are a little disturbed that I'm taking up their running room and one of them abandoned the mouse.

This is just one pile of orders waiting to be finalized - guess what I'll be doing this weekend?!

I have a kitchen counter and stove somewhere in this photo - good thing I didn't have to cook tonight - Friday is always dinner out with friends!

And yet, I did take a few minutes to stitch this week. I'm working on a new Color Delights for Baltimore (I hope) - it'll either be Cardinal or Candy Cane. Here's my progress - it was somewhat dismaying when I realized I had drawn my own outlines wrong. I left out a whole section and miscounted and had to stitch beyond the line! Chalk it up to being tired!

Last week I did finish the Double Delights design I showed you - here's a little more of it. I'm not sure what month's releaseit will be but I'm calling it Charbleu (chartreuse & blue) - I really like these colors. Somewhere I have a piece I stitched in a Tony Minieri class using a very similar colorway - I'll have to find it and show it to you sometime!

  4. Yes, the orders are coming into my mailbox. If you'll tell me your name, I'll check to be sure I have it. Don't be worried if you haven't heard from me yet. I'm still working my way through the orders in the order they came in!

  5. Kathy, clearly the cardinal/candy cane piece wants to be bigger! Maybe you should indulge it. :)

New Releases for Nashville Market

February is one of the craziest months as the Nashville wholesale market is the first weekend in March. For the first time ever, I had completed stitching all of my designs by the end of December and managed to eke out a new Holiday Delights in January! I felt great being ahead of the game but after finishing the stitching, there's the instruction writing, printing, stuffing thousands of patterns into plastic bags (I do have help, thank goodness!), communicating with my shops and distributor, packing the models and patterns to travel to market, and more boring but oh so necessary administrative details.
Did I say I love this time off year?! I really do as I look forward to market like a fabulous dessert - I get to see all my shopowner friends and other designers. We all generally work our fingers to the bone while having a fabulous time with some belly laughs and the promise of delightful sales.
At this point, you're thinking, enough, show us the new designs - here they are! Yo…

More Serenity and something new...

I'm so pleased to show you photos of some of my students' work! They've had such fun stitching Serenity and several have completed it. It's such fun to see the different colorways come to life! First up is Pam B's - it's called "Flowers of Italy". She was clever and added her initials to the piece - can you find them?! Next is Highland Garden - it was one of the most popular colorways! And here's Arnhem Heath, the ever popular purple and green!

I'll be teaching this project at Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, CA next month - if you're wanting some Serenity, come join us. You can see all the info here.
