Back from Houston and heading to Dallas

I've been home from Seminar for a week now and am almost caught up with everything. Seminar was a whirlwind - a jam packed schedule with classes, events, and squeezing in some visiting time with old and new friends. My students were especially wonderful and I've heard from a few who've finished their pieces - it gives me great joy to provide enjoyable projects people want to finish! I taught two classes - Beaded Bermuda Reef and Tranquility. Beaded Bermuda Reef is a new teaching design and I will be teaching it for ANG again at Encore in St Louis at the end of March next year. I'll also be teaching it at the Mid-Atlantic EGA Regional Seminar in Gettysburg and at a few guilds.

and a close up...
The beads are fun and easy to do, even for people who've never done any beaded embroidery.

This year brought the last design in my "Peace Trilogy", Tranquility, into my teaching portfolio.  Here are two of the colorways - Wood Pond and April Mai, named for the Gloriana threads they use. It's fun to see how the piece changes, depending on the different colors used.

I'm headed back to Texas in a couple of weeks for Destination Dallas, a wholesale trade show. I'm looking forward to seeing my shopowner friends. Although it can be hectic, it'll be more low key for me than Seminar!

I'll be releasing two new Holiday Delights - Hanukkah and Thanksgiving. I was born on Thanksgiving Day so I am especially partial to Thanksgiving and turkeys. It's fun to be a "turkey baby" and I often had pumpkin pie as my "birthday cake" when I was growing up. Since Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November, my birthday doesn't often fall on Thanksgiving but this year I am lucky to be celebrating my birthday on Thanksgiving Day!

Tilemania, my online Mystery class design, will also be released in Dallas - I love creating the Mystery designs and then being able to offer them to everyone. Many of my 200+ students have finished this design and I share some of their photos here to show you the alternate colorways. My original uses Tahiti and Stained Glass Watercolours

The Aurora colorway uses Aurora and Tiffany Rose

The Cypress colorway uses Cypress and Fiesta

The Bark colorway uses Bark and Raspberry Sherbet (shown with 4 of the 5 rows)

Your LNS can pick them up in Dallas or order from me. If you don't have a LNS, you may pre-order here.

Until next time -
Kathy

More Serenity and something new...

I'm so pleased to show you photos of some of my students' work! They've had such fun stitching Serenity and several have completed it. It's such fun to see the different colorways come to life! First up is Pam B's - it's called "Flowers of Italy". She was clever and added her initials to the piece - can you find them?!   Next is Highland Garden - it was one of the most popular colorways!   And here's Arnhem Heath, the ever popular purple and green!  I'll be teaching this project at Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, CA next month - if you're wanting some Serenity, come join us. You can see all the info here. Kathy

New website design

I'm thrilled to announce and introduce my new website. It's been live for a week or so. You can find it at the old address of www.needledelights.com - it has a completely new look and is easy to navigate. You can subscribe on the website and then will receive regular email newsletters from me. I'll also be blogging from the website as soon as I complete some training so this blog will be closing down. I'm starting to make kits for this year's Mystery - I ordered some extra threads to make a few additional kits so if you missed the signup and are still interested, email me. Class starts February 14th. You can see all the details  here . I'm working on exciting new designs to release at Nashville in March. Here's the beginning of a larger design I'm calling Gypsy. I loved working with the rich jewel tone colors and the design has a Bohemian feel. I can't wait to show you the rest of it when I officially announce my Nashville releases! I'l

Autumn Logs pillow

Just a quick post to show my finished Autumn Logs made into a pillow. The center looks washed out in the photo but I can't take another because I sent the pillow up to Fireside Stitchery - they're having a Needle Delights Originals trunk show right now and have over a dozen of my pieces - check them out if you're in the northeast! http://www.firesidestitchery.com/     Today is the first day of my online class "Inchies" - here's the Confetti colorway - one of my students already finished it and sent a photo!     I'm working on something new and will show you a peek soon!
